Overview
Painter/Decorator role at Amey on the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account, based at HMP Sudbury, Ashbourne DE6 5HW. Permanent position with standard hours of work: 39 hours per week on a 3-week rota, including weekends.
Responsibilities
* Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
* Care and maintenance of tools, materials and company property.
* Compliance with the company Health & Safety policy, instructions and directives.
* Ensure health and safety standards are achieved across the contract.
What makes this role unique
You will ensure all works are carried out to the highest safety standards, sometimes working alongside and supervising the work of prisoners. Prison Security Clearance is required (Amey will support you through this process).
Qualifications and experience
* Must be a fully qualified Painter.
* Previous relevant work-related experience.
* Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
* Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
Ideally NVQ Level 3 in Painting and Decorating; applications will be considered from those with NVQ Level 2. Experience in sharing best practice and working with prisoners is desirable but not essential as development will be provided.
