Role Overview
The Senior Business Analyst bridges the gap between business and IT by effectively communicating with all stakeholders. Responsibilities include eliciting and documenting business, functional, non-functional, and technical requirements, supporting quality assurance testing and UAT, triaging issues, defects, and enhancement requests. They also provide senior-level support for projects impacting supported applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collect, challenge, facilitate, and document business requirements in Waterfall or generate Features, Epics & User Stories in Agile Scrum.
2. Validate IT solutions to ensure alignment with business requirements, reviewing specifications with development and testing teams.
3. Assess the feasibility and benefits of proposed projects using process, system, and business knowledge.
4. Collaborate with Transformation & Change Delivery teams to ensure requirements fit into process flows without creating gaps.
5. Identify how requirements can improve process efficiency.
6. Facilitate user acceptance testing and support issues/changes in production.
Qualifications and Skills
* Extensive domain knowledge of (Re)Insurance & Ceded Reinsurance, Lloyd’s and Genius experience preferred.
* Ability to extract and document business requirements supporting technical solutions.
* Familiarity with Business Analyst techniques: User interviews, workshops, Business Process Modelling, Use Cases, Business Process Analysis, requirements documentation.
* Experience supporting all SDLC phases, including UAT.
* Stakeholder management skills and ability to build trusting relationships.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proven planning, organization, and independent working skills.
* Ability to work with data and complex systems.
* Significant experience in the insurance market.
* Experience with Agile Scrum and other SDLC methodologies.
* Detail-oriented, technically motivated, creative, and user-focused.
* Ability to assess impacts of system functionalities on performance and scalability.
* Adaptability to new strategies, technologies, and cultures.
