FM Contract Manager (PFI) – South West
We are supporting a leading national Facilities Management provider in appointing an experienced FM Contract Manager to oversee a high-profile PFI education portfolio in the South West region.
This is a critical leadership role covering multiple sites within a long-term, well-established PFI contract. To protect the confidentiality of the organisation and contract, full details will be shared only with shortlisted candidates.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will lead the full delivery of Hard and Soft FM services across a varied estate, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality service delivery. The role demands strong operational leadership, commercial oversight, and exceptional client relationship skills.
Key Responsibilities Facilities Management
1. Deliver all Hard & Soft FM services including M&E, building fabric, grounds, cleaning, catering, porterage, asset surveys, lifecycle works, and variations.
Leadership & Team Development
2. Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team, driving standards, performance, and continuous improvement.
Project & Lifecycle Management
3. Oversee Lifecycle and Variation Works, ensuring efficient planning, delivery, and cost control.
Commercial & Financial Control
4. Manage the contract P&L, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Contract Compliance & Performance
5. Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, maintain high-quality documentation, and identify opportunities for added value.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
6. Build strong working relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and professional delivery.
Subcontractor Management
7. Oversee specialist contractors, ensuring safety, quality, and commercial targets are met.
Health, Safety & Compliance
8. Maintain a safe environment, conduct risk assessments, and ensure adherence to statutory requirements.
Quality & Environmental Assurance
9. Manage audits, compliance standards, and resolve any non-conformities promptly.
About You Essential
10. Extensive FM management experience (Hard & Soft FM)
11. Strong background delivering FM within PFI environments
12. 10+ years’ experience in senior FM roles
13. Proven leadership and team-development experience
14. Strong project management capability
15. Excellent IT and data/reporting skills
16. Health & Safety knowledge or relevant qualification
17. Understanding of SFG20 and AP/RP responsibilities
Desirable
18. Experience in education-based PFI FM
19. NEBOSH or other H&S qualifications
20. IWFM/BIFM membership or qualification
21. Knowledge of fire safety, legionella, and CDM
