Role Overview
We are currently seeking a CNC Miller to join a dynamic team within a fast-growing precision engineering company. The candidate should possess prior experience in programming, setting and operating milling machines in a production environment. While SolidCAM experience would be beneficial, it is not a mandatory requirement. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about learning programming and willing to contribute to the team's growth.
Role Responsibilities
⦁ Programming, setting and running a DMG Mori CMX 1100V (2019)
⦁ Adjusting existing CNC programs to ensure accuracy and optimise efficiency
⦁ Programming of new jobs on and offline
⦁ Maintaining a level of self-inspection throughout a batch
⦁ Machining parts to tight tolerances with precision and accuracy
⦁ Working effectively as part of a team to achieve production goals and maintain a smooth workflow
⦁ Assisting the production staff in any other tasks that may be required to maintain production efficiency
Note: It is also essential that the applicant is happy to work on different machines depending on where they are required.
What We Are Looking For
⦁ Hands-on experience operating CNC milling machines, or someone with lesser experience who is eager to learn
⦁ Understanding of machining principles, CNC machining techniques, and tool selection
⦁ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve machining issues
⦁ Keen attention to detail and accuracy to produce high-quality components meeting tight tolerances
⦁ Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals
⦁ Must be able to lift and move heavy objects, including raw materials and machined components
⦁ Enthusiasm and willingness to learn, take initiative and grow
⦁ Open to new challenges and willing to take on additional responsibilities
What We Offer
⦁ Competitive rate of pay, depending on experience
⦁ Opportunities for overtime; standard work week is 39 hours, overtime rate at 1.5x
⦁ Flexible start times: 08:00-17:00 Mon-Thu & 08:00-13:00 Fri, or 07:30-16:30 Mon-Thu & 07:30-12:30 Fri
⦁ Starting 22 days holiday, with an additional day each year up to a maximum of 25 days, plus Bank Holidays
⦁ Company Sick Pay Scheme
⦁ Attendance bonus: 10 hours at basic rate for no unauthorised absence in every 3-month period
