Your new role A hands-on Finance Manager role in a growing, product-led SME where you’ll lead a small team, stay close to the numbers, and keep the operational finance engine running smoothly.This is a practical, detail-focused position: you’ll own the day-to-day finance function, oversee core processes, and ensure the business has accurate, timely and reliable financial information to support decision-making.You’ll work closely with the Operations team and Finance leadership, providing strong financial oversight across a stock-led production environment.What you’ll do
1. Month-end delivery — run a clean, consistent close and produce accurate management accounts
2. AP/AR oversight — ensure banking, reconciliations and transactional processes arepleted on time
3. Team leadership — manage and support a small finance team (approx. 3 people)
4. Financial controls — maintain strong processes, audit trails andpliance
5. Debtor management — oversee payment runs and credit control
6. VAT &pliance — ensure returns are accurate and submitted on schedule
7. Reporting & insight — produce structured reporting, highlighting risks, variances and trends
8. Payroll coordination — oversee payroll processes with external partners
9. Data accuracy — keep financial information consistent across systems
10. Stock & cost accounting — oversee costing, stock reconciliations and COGS accuracy
11. Stock alignment — support stocktakes and ensure physical vs financial stock matches
What you'll need to succeed
12. Experience as a Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant or similar
13. Strong hands-on experience across month-end, reporting, AP/AR and reconciliations
14. Experience managing or overseeing a transactional finance team
15. Confident working with ERP systems
16. Background in a stock-led, manufacturing or product-based SME
17. Highly organised, detail-focused and reliable
18. Clearmunicator who works well across teams
19. AAT qualified, or CIMA/ACCA qualified/part-qualified
