Pay Rate: £27,496.46 / Contract Type: Full‑time / Shift patterns: Monday to Friday / Location: HM Prison Isle of Sheppey.
This role is based inside a prison and involves working alongside serving offenders. Requires passing enhanced security vetting. Not a standard warehouse role.
At DHL Supply Chain, we run warehouse operations inside prisons supporting the HMPPS Canteen Service. This service allows offenders to use their own money to buy approved items such as food, toiletries and everyday essentials – with our teams responsible for picking, packing and distributing these orders within the prison.
Responsibilities
* Work inside a prison, leading and working alongside offenders in a warehouse.
* Hands‑on role: picking, packing and manual handling (up to 20 kg).
* Keep stock accurate and the operation running smoothly.
* Work at pace when needed and stay organised.
* Work as a team to make sure targets are met.
Qualifications & Skills
* Good communication skills and ability to deal with people, including in challenging situations.
* Comfortable working inside a prison alongside offenders.
* Have a 3‑year UK address history (required for security clearance).
* Hands‑on and willing to get stuck into warehouse tasks.
* Enthusiastic about doing a job that can make a real difference.
