We are looking for a caring, passionate and enthusiastic experienced Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our amazing team.

At our hospice, we provide exceptional care to patients and their families through some of the most challenging times of their lives. We support our patients in our In Patient Unit, at home plus in our Wellbeing Centre. Our charity specialises in palliative and end of life care for patients with complex and life limiting illnesses who live in North-West Surrey.

We ensure high quality care with great staff to patient ratios, making sure everyone feels cared for and valued. Our warm, clean and homely environment helps patients and families using our services feel safe and comfortable.

In addition to the wonderful environment, we have a keen focus on education and development. Our education team support excellent training sessions taught by our in-house experts. Furthermore, our staff are encouraged and supported to increase their professional skills through courses and university modules.

Clinical Colleague

A successful Palliative Care Staff Nurse band 5: will be:

* Key member of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are essential.
* To utilise your advanced nursing skills and knowledge
* Experience of palliative care is desirable; it is not essential as we can offer support through our training and development programme.
* A compassionate nurse who will play a key role in planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence based individualised nursing care.
* You will also possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and be able to lead and motivate others.
* An ability to teach and support junior members of the team
* Supporting complex patients with their medical, social and psychological needs
* Engage in the development of the ward
* Focus on improving care and ensuring best practice at all times

A successful candidate will have:

* A legal right to work in the UK. We are not able to offer sponsorship.
* Relevant experience, unfortunately at this time we are not accepting applications from newly qualified Registered Nurses.
* Current NMC Registration
* RN educated to Diploma or Degree level
* Evidence of recent professional updating and relevant personal development
* Palliative care qualification (or willingness to work complete)
* Mentorship qualification (or willingness to work complete)
* UK Registration
* A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

On Site Café and Wellbeing Gardens : At the hospice, there’s an-onsite café serving fresh, affordable meals, and you can enjoy our beautifully landscaped gardens lovingly maintained by our volunteer gardeners.

Pension Scheme: Hospice staff can join Royal London with a 4% employer contribution or colleagues joining from the NHS can remain in the NHS pension scheme, subject to eligibility.

Training & Development: We have a dedicated education and training team to support development opportunities across the hospice including apprenticeships, professional qualifications and more.
