Overview

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic professionals, who has high expectations of themselves and their pupils and is committed to improving the lives of our children to join our warm and welcoming team. Salary: (actual): £32,916 - £51,051 + £3,527 MPS – UPS + TLR 2A

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time

Hannah Ball School is a one form entry primary school in the heart of High Wycombe. Our small and friendly school serves a diverse community and offers a broad, balanced and evolving curriculum. About the role

The following list is not intended to be exhaustive but indicates the range of duties and the level of responsibility involved.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Management Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the effective and efficient operation of your year groups on a day-to-day basis, including behaviour management.
2. Ensure the learning environment in your year groups is stimulating, orderly and safe.
3. Organise the transition of children into your year groups and out of the year groups, including those children who join mid-year.
4. Be the figurehead and spokesperson for your year group at academy, inter-agency and public events.
5. Line manage and performance manage the teachers and support staff in your year groups.
6. Oversee the general deployment and performance of support staff in the year groups.
7. Liaise with Subject Leaders as and when necessary.
8. Liaise with parents and carers of children in your year groups when necessary.
9. Account to the Senior Team for provision and performance in your year groups.
10. Manage and account for any budgets devolved directly to your year groups.

Class Teacher Responsibilities:

11. Be responsible for the day-to-day running of the class.
12. Create an attractive and motivating learning environment.
13. Implement appropriate classroom and behaviour management strategies.
14. Plan, teach and assess work appropriately in accordance with the schools agreed policies and systems.
15. Set challenging targets of achievement for all children taught.
16. Differentiate teaching and work appropriately so that all children may achieve.
17. Monitor and record children’s progress.
18. Develop good relationships with parents, including reporting to parents formally and informally.
19. Manage other adults in the classroom
20. Take part in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), including keeping up-to-date with current research on national and local initiatives.
21. Take part in Performance Management reviews in accordance with the school’s agreed policies.

General:

22. Maintain confidentiality in and outside the workplace;
23. Support the implementation of academy policies;
24. Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils;
25. Be aware of and understand safeguarding protocol and procedures and the importance of taking appropriate action;
26. Attend and participate in meetings and training opportunities;
27. Carry out any other reasonable tasks/duties as required by The Trust in accordance with the needs of The Trust.
