Aws platform/devops engineer

📍 Croydon (1–2 days/week) + occasional travel to Reading

Are you an experienced DevOps Engineer passionate about AWS, automation, and delivering secure, scalable cloud platforms? Join us at Mastek UK and play a key role in one of the UK’s largest digital transformation programmes—modernising critical government services.


🔧 About the Role

* Build and automate secure AWS environments following best practices
* Drive DevOps culture—collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement
* Support multidisciplinary agile teams and remove delivery blockers
* Lead workshops, manage technical escalations, and champion servant-leadership
* Deliver highly available, secure, and scalable cloud platforms
* ✔ 5+ years with AWS services (EC2, RDS, Aurora PG, VPC, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, etc.)
* ✔ Strong Terraform experience
* ✔ Proficiency in Linux, Docker, and Amazon Linux 2023
* ✔ Solid Jenkins + Groovy pipelines experience
* ✔ Strong scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell, Perl, Java)
* ✔ Strong PostgreSQL admin, performance tuning, HA, replication, backup/DR
* ✔ Experience in 24/7 production AWS environments
* ✔ Monitoring tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Alert Manager
* ✔ Git, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow
* ✔ Strong troubleshooting & root cause analysis skills
* ✔ SC Cleared and UK‑based for duration of the programme
* • Firewall/switch config & patching
* • AWS/Azure certifications (or willingness to attain)
