The Role
As Assistant Bar Manager, you will support the Bar Manager in the day-to-day operation of the bar, ensuring exceptional service, strong commercial performance, and a welcoming atmosphere for every guest. You will lead by example, inspire the team, and use your beverage knowledge to drive sales and elevate the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the smooth operation of the bar in the absence of the Bar Manager
* Work closely with the Bar Manager to achieve business targets, including sales, revenue, and profitability
* Manage payroll in line with budget and operational requirements
* Drive beverage sales through product knowledge, upselling, and team engagement
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of beer, wines, and spirits, sharing this with guests and the team
* Support staff training and ongoing development, particularly around drinks knowledge and service standards
* Conduct regular 1–1 meetings with supervisors and team members to support performance and development
* Play an active role in team meetings, contributing ideas and leading by example
* Motivate, coach, and inspire the bar team to deliver friendly, consistent, and high-quality service
* Ensure full compliance with Crowne Plaza brand standards and licensing regulations
* Maintain the highest standards of guest service, creating a warm and welcoming bar environment
* Ensure consistent service delivery across all shifts and team members
About You
* Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a supervisory role or higher within a bar or hospitality environment
* Passionate about great, friendly service and creating memorable guest experiences
* Strong knowledge of beer, wines, and spirits, with a desire to continually learn and share expertise
* Commercially minded with a proven ability to drive sales
* Confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
Working Hours
* Shifts will vary and will include daytime, evening, and weekend shifts, offering variety and balance
