Overview
Role: Technical Manager in the Concrete department.
Location: Mick George Head Office – Huntingdon
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
Pay: Dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all concrete operations meet health, safety, and quality standards, including ISO and BSI regulations.
* Oversee the technical performance of concrete plants, create and update mix designs, and ensure batching and sampling are carried out correctly.
* Investigate and resolve technical issues and customer complaints; provide monthly reports to management; support site visits when needed.
* Work with suppliers to improve concrete performance and cost efficiency; maintain technical systems and records; monitor production data; assist with Cemfloor orders to reduce operational risks.
* Be available for site visits when a technical complaint is received and ensure they are logged and the customer is communicated to.
* Review CUSUM data and propose changes to batch books as and when necessary.
* Perform monthly admixture stock control checks.
* Ensure compliance within the wider framework of: The Health and Safety at Work Act; Quality Assurance to ISO 9001/2000; EN206; BSI Kite Mark Accreditation Scheme.
Skills & Qualifications Required
* Valid UK driving licence (Category B or C depending on vehicle requirements).
* Previous management experience in the Concrete Industry
* Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and practice
* Knowledge of ISO9001/14001 and 45001
* Methodical and flexible in approach to tasks
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Good interpersonal skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good project management skills
* Effective problem-solving skills.
* Highly organised and ability to work in a pressurised environment.
* Excellent MS Office skills.
* A pro-active team member
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
