About the role
Morningstar DBRS’ Business Development team for Structured Finance is looking for a Business Developer at Vice President-level to join their team in London.
As part of our European Business Development team, you will play a key role in expanding Morningstar DBRS’s European structured credit and middle market corporate ratings business. This position reports to the Managing Director of Business Development for European Structured Finance.
You will strengthen relationships with asset managers, issuers, arrangers, and direct lenders, driving greater market demand for our ratings and insights. Success in this role requires a solid understanding of both public and private credit markets, from direct lending to CLOs and fund debt issuance.
Job Responsibilities
1. Expand ratings coverage and grow revenues in structured credit, fund finance and private credit sectors
2. Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with public and private European capital market participants
3. Monitor key metrics and communicate results as appropriate to senior executives
4. Identify opportunities for new product development
5. Work across internal groups including finance, marketing, and customer services as necessary
6. Coordinate with marketing team on promotion of DBRS Morningstar at industry conferences
Qualifications
7. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience at an asset manager, bank or rating agency
8. University degree in a related field
9. Solid understanding of debt capital markets instruments, structured finance market dynamics and credit rating agencies
10. Excellent negotiation skills
11. Ability to deliver excellent client service with clear and effective written and verbal communication
12. Able to multi-task and work independently while collaborating effectively as a team player in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
13. Proficient in Salesforce, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
