Defect & Risk Analyst, Defect and Risk Management

Amazon’s Finance Operations Payroll team has an immediate opening for a seasoned Operational Excellence professional whose experience illustrates a clear ability to support implementation of global process improvement along with technologies and services to meet long-term business needs.
The OE role is self-driven and goal-oriented with a focus on delivering a business solution that meets customer needs. We are a fun and diverse team with members in several different countries. This role requires a mix of quantitative and leadership skills to identify process improvement and technology-related opportunities and bring them to logical closure by applying stable and scalable solutions.
The OE Analyst will co-lead global programs/projects and drive a culture of self-inspection and continuous improvement where acting on facts and eliminating defects and waste is the norm.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Global program communication with stakeholders across verticals
2. Strong stakeholder management skills
3. Writing whitepapers for MBR or ad-hoc connects
4. Preparing and leading program workshops/FMEA sessions
5. Performing data analysis to identify actionable root causes
6. Liaising with respective stakeholders to gain buy-in
7. Identifying opportunities for automating process steps and other process improvements
8. Risk and control assessment
9. New/improved control deployment
10. Preparing and publishing program dashboards on a regular basis
11. Analyzing numbers on the dashboards and providing logical recommendations
12. Following up to ensure actions are completed
13. Performing internal audits to gauge effectiveness
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 1+ years of finance experience
* 2+ years of Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable experience
* 2+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
* Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL, and VBA skills
* Experience using data to influence business decisions
* Experience in corporate finance including budgeting/planning, forecasting, and reporting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 2+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
* Experience in TM1, Data Warehouse, and SQL
