An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for orthopaedics to join a friendly practice in the Brecon area of Powys. The ideal candidate would have experience performing TPLO/CCWO/TTA and fracture fixation, and have soft tissue surgical and general practice skills. However, candidates with a solid foundation in surgical techniques wishing to learn new orthopaedic procedures are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Full-time role (4-day week), part-time considered.
Participation in Saturday rota 1:5 and inpatient on-call rota 1:6 (Mon-Fri only, no nights on call on Sat/Sun/Bank Holidays).
Start at 08:45, with the last appointment at 18:15.

The Candidate:
The practice prides itself on maintaining its own inpatients, providing a high standard of care and continuity for its patients.
The successful candidate will also be expected to offer back-up support to junior vets on a 1:6 basis.
In addition to leading the orthopaedic service, the candidate will be a capable GP Vet who enjoys a variety of procedures and is comfortable administering vaccines.
The role will involve working across four RCVS-accredited branches in South Wales, all equipped with ultrasound, digital X-ray, and in-house blood machines.
More About the Practice:
The practice's greatest asset is its team, who look after and support each other. They prioritise the well-being of their team, ensuring full lunch breaks, finishing on time, and allowing time for a cup of tea and toilet breaks. The practice is also a trailblazer for the new BVA Good Workplace Accreditation scheme, demonstrating its commitment to providing the best possible work environment for its team.
The practice is located in a beautiful part of the country near the Brecon Beacons National Park, with great transport links and easy access to Bristol and Cardiff in 45 minutes and 2.5 hours to London.
