We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join our team for a fixed-term maternity cover from September 2025 to July 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nurturing, trauma-informed environment that puts the emotional and educational needs of every child first.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs (including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and communication difficulties).
Create a safe, inclusive and trauma-informed learning environment where every pupil can thrive academically and emotionally.
Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews.
Use assessment tools and observation to track pupil progress and adapt strategies to support their development.
Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, SENCO, and external agencies to ensure joined-up provision.
Promote pupils' emotional wellbeing and social development through consistent behaviour support strategies.
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour, and engage regularly with families and carers.Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Proven experience teaching pupils with SEN in a primary or special school setting
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes
Ability to plan for personalised learning and use adaptive teaching methods
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and trauma-informed practiceGood to Have:
Additional qualifications in SEN (e.g., NASENCO, autism training, or Team Teach)
Experience with Zones of Regulation, Thrive, or similar therapeutic approaches
Knowledge of alternative communication strategies (e.g., Makaton, PECS)
Experience in leading a classroom team or mentoring support staff
