Description This is an exciting opportunity to join the Application Portfolio Management (APM) programme, one of the 5 key COO governance forums that oversees changes across the Nationwide to improve the health of the technology estate through simplification, automation and resilience. In this role as a Data Engineer (E2) you’ll be part of the central APM taskforce team that provides oversight and data-driven reporting that drives the way CTO manages the technology estate across the Group. Acting as a conduit between the central APM taskforce, the CIO teams, the central CMDB and other NBS IISD / VM TOCS functions, you’ll agree outcomes and objectives, define solutions, shape requirements and deliver key reports for tracking and measurement of application portfolio health. You’ll also be expected to share your experience and knowledge as a data expert to resolve queries against data challenges. Responsibilities What you’ll be doing This role will offer lots of exciting opportunities to enhance your skills in data engineering. You’ll be responsible for creating and executing our data driven reports to Group standards, building and maintaining the underlying data models that underpin our reporting and initiate and support the investigation around data quality. You will also identify new data sources and ways to improve the availability of data to enhance our propositions and support advanced analytics and reporting capabilities to support our CIOs and wider COO Community. About you As a minimum requirement you’ll have: Working knowledge and experience of key Data warehousing concepts, tools, and languages: Data ingestion, Data processing, ETL and Data modelling Experience of working in using agile methodologies and tools i.e., JIRA, Confluence Excellent documentation and communication skills Experience of working with financial services data A growth / resilient mindset, a thirst for knowledge, the ability to take on new challenges, and overcome knowledge gaps through upskilling and bring new thinking, ideas and continuous improvement to the team Extensive experience and working knowledge of the following: Power BI / Power Automate SQL Development SharePoint and other Microsoft Tools Databricks Experience with the ServiceNow Data model Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together.
