Ward 217 Surgical High Dependency Unit (SHDU) has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated band 3 Health Care Support Worker to become part of the team. We are an 18 bedded HDU for all Level 2 patients, inclusive of all surgical specialities and polytrauma. Successful applicants should have a genuine interest in Surgical HDU nursing and experience in an acute setting would be beneficial. Being able to manage and prioritise their own workload and work well within a team is essential.
Applicants will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to motivate themselves and others. The post involves day and night rotation working 12 hour shifts.

From 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
