About the Job you are considering:
Designs and delivers end‑to‑end, scalable, and cost‑effective architecture solutions for digital banking platforms, with a strong focus on Cards and Lending domains, translating business requirements into MVPs and technical solutions aligned to enterprise architecture and platform roadmaps while providing architectural leadership, risk management, and governance, and collaborating closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners to deliver secure, resilient, and cloud‑enabled solutions.
Job Role
1. Understand business designs and requirements to develop and deliver custom application features and functions
2. Analyse Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and decompose requirements into MVPs, epics, and user stories
3. Own end-to-end solution design, ensuring alignment with platform architecture roadmaps and enterprise architecture strategy
4. Design cost-effective, scalable, and strategically aligned architecture solutions across card and lending platforms
5. Provide architecture leadership and direction while collaborating with diverse technology and business stakeholders
6. Build strong relationships with business sponsors to define and support business strategy and technology roadmaps
7. Identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies effectively throughout the delivery lifecycle
8. Ensure compliance with architecture governance, standards, and policies
9. Mentor, coach, and support team members and less experienced engineers or architects
10. Partner with external suppliers and vendors to define integration patterns and architecture approaches
11. Stay current with emerging technology trends and proactively communicate insights to peers and stakeholders
12. Contribute to digital banking initiatives within retail banking, with a focus on cards or lending products.
Job Skills
13. 8+ years’ experience maintaining complex banking applications, particularly within credit card processing platforms
14. Strong knowledge of one or more card products, with exposure to additional card or lending products highly desirable
15. Significant experience in financial services, particularly digital banking, retail banking, cards, or loans
16. Proven experience delivering enterprise solutions over multiple years, either as an architect or in senior engineering roles
17. Strong ability to operate within matrixed organisations, collaborating effectively and resolving conflicts constructively
18. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through ambiguous and complex challenges
19. Strong stakeholder engagement skills across business and IT functions
20. Full-stack solution design capability including web applications, APIs, orchestration layers, and integration patterns
21. Knowledge of cloud platforms with certification in at least one public cloud (preferred)
22. Experience designing resilient, highly available systems with a strong cyber security mindset
23. Awareness of infrastructure integration, data messaging, identity, and security architecture principles
24. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
25. Ability to be pragmatic, flexible, accountable, and culturally sensitive while building strong professional networks.
