The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Warehouse Project Lead to join our dynamic team. As a Data Warehouse Project Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of data warehouse solutions in alignment with the organisation's strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive enterprise experience, a proficient understanding of the Microsoft technology stack, and demonstrable expertise in data engineering and architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the end-to-end implementation of data warehouse projects, from requirement gathering to deployment and maintenance.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
* Design and develop robust data warehouse architectures that support scalability, performance, and data integrity.
* Implement best practices for data modelling, ETL processes, and data integration.
* Optimise data warehouse performance through efficient query design, indexing strategies, and data partitioning.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
* Work closely with business analysts and data scientists to understand analytical requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data warehouse solutions with existing systems and applications.
* Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data management and analytics, and evaluate their potential impact on our data warehouse architecture.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
* Proven experience leading data warehouse projects in enterprise environments.
* In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack, including SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS.
* Strong proficiency in data modelling concepts and techniques (e.g., dimensional modelling, star schema, snowflake schema).
* Expertise in designing and implementing ETL processes using industry-leading tools and frameworks.
* Solid understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and metadata management.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in data warehouse environments.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
* Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading and motivating teams to achieve project goals.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate) would be a plus.
