A well-regarded secondary school in Hertfordshire is looking to appoint a Teacher of Technology for a part-time, permanent position starting in September 2026.

The school is seeking a Teacher of Technology who can bring strong practical knowledge, enthusiasm for the subject, and the ability to deliver engaging lessons across the Technology curriculum. This Teacher of Technology role will particularly suit someone with experience in workshop-based teaching and a confident background in metalwork.
The appointed Teacher of Technology will be joining a faculty that includes Design and Technology, Food & Nutrition, ICT, and Business Studies. For the right Teacher of Technology, there will be the opportunity to teach within a department that benefits from spacious teaching rooms, dedicated workshop and preparation areas, and strong technical support.
This Teacher of Technology post would be especially attractive to a candidate with experience in Product Design, Resistant Materials, or broader Design and Technology teaching, particularly where metalwork, machinery, and workshop practice form part of their teaching background. The school is keen to appoint a Teacher of Technology who can support students in developing practical problem-solving skills through research, design, and production.
At Key Stage 3, the Teacher of Technology will help students build core design and making skills through a progressive curriculum. At Key Stage 4, the Teacher of Technology will support learners as they begin to specialise, and there may also be the chance for the Teacher of Technology to contribute to post-16 teaching depending on experience.
The ideal Teacher of Technology will:
* Have experience teaching Design and Technology, Product Design, or Resistant Materials
* Be confident in a workshop environment
* Ideally have experience with metalwork

This Teacher of Technology role is part-time at 0.6, offered on a permanent basis, and is due to begin in September 2026. The salary for this Teacher of Technology position is £34,398 - £52,490 FTE, depending on experience.
