About the Role / Role Overview The successful HLTA will work closely with teaching staff to plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality learning across the curriculum. You will take a proactive role in the classroom, covering lessons when required and leading interventions that help bridge learning gaps for identified pupils. Your Role Will Include: Deliver pre-planned lessons and structured interventions in the absence of a teacher. Promote an inclusive environment where all pupils feel supported and challenged. Provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs, including those with EHCPs. Assist in assessing pupil progress and maintaining detailed records. Work collaboratively with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals. Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times. Job Requirements: HLTA qualification or equivalent recognised Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification. Demonstrable experience supporting teaching and learning in a primary or secondary setting. Ability to lead whole-class sessions and manage classroom behaviour effectively. In-depth knowledge of the national curriculum and age-appropriate teaching strategies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-oriented approach. A deep understanding of safeguarding procedures and inclusive practice. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Join GSL Education Today!
