North Lakes Children's Services is on the lookout for an experienced Residential Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team in Wigton. We are a well-established provider of therapeutic residential care and education for boys aged 6-18, and we’re passionate about improving resilience, self-esteem, and abilities in every young person we work with.
About the Role
This is a full-time, permanent position with a base salary of £31,105.28, with the potential to earn up to £34,362.56 through sleep-in shifts. You will work a 42-hour week on a rotating shift pattern, ensuring that our 4-bedroom home in Carlisle runs smoothly and effectively.
Your Responsibilities
* Ensure the Statement of Purpose reflects the needs of the young people in our care.
* Develop effective communication strategies to keep the team informed and engaged.
* Manage and develop quality direct services for young people.
* Implement North Lakes Children's Services policies and procedures.
* Identify and meet staff training and development needs.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
* Regularly inspect the home to maintain high standards of repair and safety.
* Oversee financial budgets and ensure compliance with company expectations.
* Promote Equality and Diversity policies and Child Protection Procedures.
* Set, monitor, and evaluate quality standards for team performance.
* Ensure professional practice is maintained to the highest standards.
What We’re Looking For
* An understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care.
* A relevant qualification: Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce, or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
* Excellent communication and listening skills.
* A willingness to learn and work collaboratively within a small team.
* A full, clean UK driving licence and the ability to cover at other Residential Homes as needed.
* Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is a plus.
* Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (which we will cover).
