Job Title: Quality Engineer ( Site Based ) Location: Hinkley Point, Somerset Join us! As a Quality Engineer will oversee all quality aspects of the aforementioned project and will be site based. Given that this is a nuclear project, safety is paramount in all activities. Success in this documentation-compliant role requires meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Hinkley Point C is a newly constructed nuclear power station. Linxon will be responsible for engineering, procuring, and constructing all the HV equipment on the conventional island to connect the power generation to the National Grid. What will you do? Knowledge of HV substation quality standards and associated nuclear documentation. Work with the completions team to prepare, deliver, and revise End of Erection Status Reports (EESR). Develop review, and approve QA procedures, work instructions, and quality documents, ensuring they are aligned with project requirements and best practices. Issue of NCR's where required and facilitating in closure of internal and client issued NCR's. Maintaining Lessons Learned log Work with the Linxon team to ensure that qualified personnel are present at all M&E inspections. Provide training and guidance to project personnel and contractors on QA procedures, standards, and requirements, promoting a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement. Foster a culture of accuracy and identify key risk areas for improvement. Conduct root cause analysis and develop long-term strategies to address procedural failures. Knowledgeable in Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and associated check sheets, able to review and offer timely feedback to contractors. Attend weekly quality meetings with the client to provide updates on progress and completion. Perform scheduled audits of Linxon’s documentation and that of subcontractors to verify adherence to ISO 9001 standards. Help the quality manager track and improve KPIs as needed. Address and escalate issues that jeopardize work quality Experience Required Possessing knowledge of NNB quality requirements and systems is highly advantageous. Experience as an internal auditor of ISO9001 is beneficial. Proven experience in ensuring quality standards within a high voltage substation role. Maintenance of Linxon’s quality management system to ISO 9001 Comprehensive understanding of M&E installation and associated documentation requirements Maintain focus and communicate effectively at all levels. Preferred membership of Chartered Quality Institute. Problem-solving skills: Root Cause Analysis (RCA) / Eight Disciplines (8D) Proficiency in IT skills is required.
