What is the job role?
Join Our Team at Eric Williams House – Exciting Night Shift Opportunity!
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team at Eric Williams House on night shifts.
As a key team member, you will support management in the overall administration of the home, oversee staff, and ensure resources are effectively used to provide exceptional, person-centred care tailored to our residents’ needs.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Supervising and leading a team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.
2. Ensuring the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual well-being of residents, including administering medication.
3. Promoting a safe, supportive environment following Health & Safety guidelines.
4. Upholding safeguarding practices to protect vulnerable adults.
5. Supporting staff to meet and exceed care standards and professional behaviour.
Work Schedule: Night shifts (9:45 PM – 7:30 AM), including weekends and bank holidays, on a rota basis (21 hours per week). The advertised salary is based on a 37-hour full-time week and will be pro-rated for this role.
This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; appointment is conditional upon a satisfactory DBS check.
Who are we looking for?
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Leading night shifts to ensure safety and well-being of residents, staff, and premises.
2. Supervising a small team of Night Support Assistants, providing guidance and support.
3. Providing personalised care, including for residents with dementia, according to their needs and plans.
4. Promoting independence and enhancing residents’ quality of life.
5. Upholding residents' rights, maximising choices, and involving them in decisions.
6. Responding to complaints and comments in line with departmental policies.
7. Conducting Risk Assessments and adhering to Health and Safety Regulations.
8. Collaborating with health and housing providers to improve residents’ health and quality of life.
9. Supporting and engaging with carers, relatives, and the community.
10. Participating in staff training and meetings.
11. Assisting with duties such as cleaning and laundry as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Commitment to completing the Care Certificate.
2. Ability to work more than 21 hours per week.
3. Understanding of Coventry City Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
6. Experience supporting individuals with diverse needs.
