About the job role
An exciting opportunity has arisen as Psychological Therapies Manager at St Joseph’s. You will work as part of committed and creative team, which offers innovative, holistic and person-aligned care and support to people with palliative and end life care needs, and to their families and care givers.
The Psychological Therapies Manager is responsible for the operational management of the Patient & Family Counselling Service at St Joseph’s Hospice, providing line management and supervision to the staff team. The patient and family therapists work within a multi-disciplinary team setting to provide psychological and emotional support to patients and their families with terminal conditions. Our patients have a range of life-limiting illnesses, including cancer, neurological and respiratory conditions. The service currently offers support to any adult under the care of the hospice, to their individual family members, couples and family groups and to children and young people by way of family consultation, individual counselling and art therapy.
About you
You will need:
* Recognised qualification in a psychological therapy at Master’s level or equivalent.
* Substantial experience working at a managerial or senior clinical level in a palliative care or similar therapeutic service.
* Experience in providing supervision and support to staff working in emotionally challenging settings.
* Demonstrable leadership skills to ensure provision of high quality and responsive talking therapies service to adults and children.
