Job Type: Full time Job Location: Ilford School Setting: Special School Contract Type: Permanent REF: SENDIRECT/191680 Rate: £38,000 - £52,000 per annum Hours: 8:30–15:30 Start Date: September 2025 We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a thriving special school in Ilford. This full-time, permanent role presents an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them develop essential skills and confidence within a supportive and inclusive learning environment. As an SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in planning and delivering tailored lessons, ensuring that each student receives the individual support they need to thrive. Working closely with a team of specialist staff and therapists, you will foster an environment that nurtures academic, social, and emotional development. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about SEND teaching. While experience is desirable, it is not essential, as full training and professional development opportunities will be provided. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that cater to the needs of students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement and progress. Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and SENCOs to develop and implement individual learning plans (ILPs). Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring that teaching strategies are adapted accordingly. Support students in developing communication, social, and life skills to enhance their independence. Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a cohesive support system for students. Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare and well-being of all students. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. A strong understanding of SEND teaching strategies and inclusive education. Experience in a special school setting is desirable but not essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to teaching. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
