Hours: 37.5 40 hours per week
Salary: £17.50+ per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead a well-established nursery in Hackney with 11 children currently on roll. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nursery Manager or a strong Deputy Manager ready to take the next step into a management position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery, leading and supporting the staff team, and ensuring the highest standards of care, education, safeguarding, and compliance are maintained. You will play a key role in driving improvements across the setting while supporting occupancy growth and maintaining a positive learning environment for children.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the day-to-day running of the nursery.
* Lead, manage, and support the staff team.
* Organise daily activities, routines, and nursery operations.
* Plan and oversee short, medium, and long-term curriculum planning.
* Maintain a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for all children.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers.
* Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented and followed at all times.
* Monitor children's development, progress, and learning outcomes.
* Conduct staff supervision, training, and performance management.
* Manage occupancy levels, staffing ratios, and staff rotas.
* Oversee health and safety procedures and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high standards throughout the setting.
* Support nursery growth and help increase occupancy levels.
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years (Level 5 preferred).
* Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework.
* Good understanding of Ofsted requirements and inspection processes.
* Experience preparing a setting for Ofsted inspections.
* Ability to implement positive change and establish effective routines and procedures.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
* Sound knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Previous nursery leadership or management experience preferred.
* Deputy Managers with significant leadership experience and a desire to progress into a Nursery Manager role are encouraged to apply.
