Position Overview
Woodview School is looking to recruit a Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our Senior Leadership Team for a September 2026 start. The successful candidate will support children and young people and safeguard their welfare.
Responsibilities
The role involves ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed, coordinating support for pupils with SEN, and fostering a safe environment. Specific responsibilities include:
* Resilience: Managing challenging behaviour and emotional difficulties of vulnerable children.
* Communication: Liaising with young people, staff and external agencies.
* Organisation: Planning and delivering safeguarding training, monitoring student needs.
* Caring: Providing compassionate support to young people.
* Attentive: Responding to varied tasks and needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience of safeguarding and supporting young people, especially within SEN.
* Demonstrated resilience, communication, organisation, caring, and attentiveness.
* Willingness to undergo safeguarding screening, DBS check and provide references covering the last 3 years.
