Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Contract Support / Account manager (Recruitment Lead) to manage key client relationships within the construction sector. The role involves overseeing operatives placed on-site, ensuring service excellence, compliance, and performance delivery. This is a people-focused position requiring strong communication, organisation, and client management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the main point of contact for clients and site management teams, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
* Attend construction sites regularly to conduct performance reviews and welfare checks with operatives.
* Record and track operative performance, attendance, and conduct; produce reports and feedback for clients and internal management.
* Manage holiday schedules, absence cover, and site resource planning to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Maintain accurate records of operative training, tickets, and qualifications to ensure full compliance with site and client requirements.
* Attend regular resource meetings with clients to review current and upcoming labour needs.
* Work closely with internal resource and recruitment teams to fill vacancies promptly and efficiently.
* Handle any on-site issues, including performance, disciplinary, or welfare matters, in line with company policy.
* Identify business development opportunities with existing and new clients, supporting the company’s growth strategy.
* Ensure full compliance with H&S and employment legislation, maintaining high operational standards across all accounts.
* Prepare weekly and monthly activity and performance reports for management.
* Support the onboarding process for new operatives, including inductions and compliance checks.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in recruitment, account management, or labour coordination within the construction or civil engineering sector.
* Strong understanding of site operations, compliance, and workforce management.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and manage multiple client accounts.
* Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM systems.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
Desirable:
* Previous experience managing construction operatives (piling, groundworks, civils, or infrastructure projects).
* Experience working with major infrastructure clients such as HS2 or Tier 1 contractors.
* Knowledge of Right to Work and CSCS/NPORS/CPCS compliance processes.
