We are delighted to announce an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced General Practitioner to join our team at Quarry Bank Medical Centre. This is a permanent, full-time salaried post (with flexible working options) for a GP who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across a diverse community.
The role offers the chance not only to practise core generalist medicine, but also to bring forward and develop specialist skills gained during or after CCT training. Role Overview
As a Salaried GP with us, you will:
* Deliver consultations across the full spectrum of general practice: acute presentations, chronic disease management, and preventative health care.
* Provide continuity of care to patients in nursing homes and care facilities.
* Support the practice with home visits and contribute to palliative care pathways.
* Participate in quality improvement projects, audits, and CQC readiness.
* Supervise and mentor GP trainees and medical students, contributing to our role as a training practice.
* Engage in wider strategic planning and service development initiatives.

Elderly Care and Nursing Home Medicine
* Falls prevention strategies
* End-of-life care planning and anticipatory prescribing

* Symptom control in advanced illness
* Anticipatory prescribing and syringe driver management (in collaboration with nursing colleagues)
* Supporting families and carers in complex care decisions
Sexual and Reproductive Health
* Screening and management of STIs

* Contraception provision beyond standard services
Child and Adolescent Health
* Child health surveillance and development checks
* Paediatric acute illness management
* Safeguarding and multi-agency working

Specialist GP Training Roles
* GP Trainer accreditation and experience in mentoring GP registrars
* Undergraduate teaching for medical students
* Supervision of allied healthcare professionals (physician associates, pharmacists, nurses)
* Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in Medical Education
Other Extended Roles and Skills
* Minor illness and urgent care triage expertise
* Mental health care in primary settings

Qualifications and Experience
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree
* GMC full registration
* CCT in General Practice
* Inclusion on NHS England Performers List
* At least 3 years’ post-CCT experience in primary care
* Strong QOF record
* Experience of supervising or mentoring trainees
* Familiarity with EMIS Web or similar systems
* Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP/FRCGP)
* Diplomas or postgraduate qualifications in specialties such as Child Health (DCH), Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRCOG), Dermatology (DPD), or Geriatric Medicine (DGM)
* Minor surgery and family planning certification
* Experience in nursing home medicine, public health, or wellness programmes
* Audit and QI experience
