Grade I: £50,788 - £55,017 plus a Market supplement of £5,909 per annum pro rata (reviewed annually) 37 hours per week Permanent Opportunities to enhance your planning career in Tewkesbury Borough Tewkesbury Borough is experiencing significant growth with a strong economy and ambitious development plans, including the Garden Communities programme. The area boasts environmental assets like the Cotswolds National Landscape, a rich heritage, and strategic location on the M5 and M50 corridors in north Gloucestershire. Our plans support this growth with a commitment to place-making and creating sustainable, vibrant communities. As the Planning Policy Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of the Council's planning policy work, managing a team overseeing development plan documents and working with neighbouring authorities on joint strategic plans. You will also support neighbourhood plans, manage the heritage function, and handle projects related to borough growth. Key responsibilities include: Managing planning policy development, ensuring alignment with council priorities and national policies Advising senior officers and members on planning policy matters Leading the production of the joint Strategic and Local Plan, including evidence gathering and public consultations Developing supplementary planning documents and guidance notes Managing a team of policy, S106 monitoring, and heritage officers, providing leadership and performance management Representing the council at external meetings and stakeholder engagements This role includes a Market Supplement of £5,909 annually (paid monthly pro rata), reviewed annually.
