About The School
The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering is one of four major interdisciplinary schools within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, and chemical engineering. As part of the University’s strategic vision, the School is advancing ambitious research and teaching initiatives to ensure our graduates are equipped for successful and impactful careers. Your Role
Successful Candidates Will
* Lead or contribute to internationally recognised research in pharmaceutical sciences.
* Deliver high-quality teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, focussing on pharmaceutical sciences but with overlap into the chemistry and chemical engineering programmes.
* Supervise student (UG & PG(T)) research projects and contribute to curriculum design and assessment.
* Engage with student recruitment, support, and professional development.
* Build collaborations with industry and support development of training opportunities.
Areas of Expertise
We particularly welcome applicants whose research interests align with one or more of the following areas. You will also be expected to contribute to teaching in at least one of these areas.
* Computational Pharmaceutical Sciences, including molecular docking
* Separation Sciences, for small- and large-scale pharmaceutical and chemical engineering applications
* Pharmacology / Pharmacokinetics
* Formulation Science
* Metals and Materials Science, applied within pharmaceutical or inorganic chemistry contexts
Applicants will be asked to specify which of the above areas they can contribute to, particularly in teaching, as part of the application process.
What We Are Looking For
You should have:
* A PhD in a relevant field
* An established or emerging track record of high-quality research
* Teaching experience appropriate to the level of the post
* A collaborative mindset and a passion for interdisciplinary work
* Experience developing links with industry (desirable)
