Our dedicated Sensory Impairment Team in Bristol is looking for compassionate and skilled professionals to join us in delivering life-enhancing services.
We work directly with adults who are visually impaired, hard of hearing, deaf, or deafblind, providing tailored support in line with the Care Act 2014. Our multi-disciplinary team includes Social Workers, Customer Services Officers, Rehabilitation Officers (Visual Impairment), and an Equipment and Rehabilitation Officer.
Working closely together, we offer specialist advice, rehabilitation, and practical support to help individuals achieve their goals and maintain independence. We take pride in our collaborative, learning-focused environment, where team members actively support each other's professional growth and development.
In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience with assistive technology and apps that enable individuals to live more independently. You’ll build in-depth knowledge of working with people who have a Certificate of Visual Impairment (CVI) and will work closely with our Rehabilitation Officers to help maximise independence.
You’ll also enhance your deaf awareness and deepen your understanding of the barriers people face when accessing services, equipping you to advocate more effectively for those you support.

The Role:
As a social worker in Adult Social Care, you'll play a crucial role in assessing and addressing the diverse needs of our community, navigating the varied challenges our vibrant city provides. Your responsibilities will also include:
* Conducting assessments and reviews, developing tailored care plans for people and carers, ensuring their unique needs and priorities are addressed.
* Advocating choice and control, you'll empower individuals to make decisions and manage risks, ensuring services are organised in alignment with their preferences and needs.
* Upholding professional standards continuously as our service evolves, you'll monitor changing needs, develop support plans, utilise resources, and ensure Social Care remains future-ready through creative use of assistive tech.
You will:
* Be a qualified social worker who is registered with Social Work England, you will have a Social Work qualification. Or you are an undergraduate completing your social work degree and are awaiting your results and/or your SWE registration.
* Be passionate about strengths based, person centred social care, you will also have a proven talent for co-production and involving people in decision-making and building on their strengths.
* Be highly motivated and adaptable with a collaborative spirit for building relationships and working in diverse environments.
