Job Description
The role involves designing and managing GPA’s enterprise data models to support business systems, contributing to our property management efficiencies by understanding and developing our data estate, including creating data models and identifying data flow opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design data models and metadata systems.
2. Assist chief data architects in understanding organizational needs.
3. Provide oversight and guidance to other data architects.
4. Manage data dictionaries.
5. Ensure team adherence to organizational standards.
6. Collaborate with technical architects to align system design with data architecture.
7. Line manage a small team of data architects and business analysts.
Person Specification
The lead data architect ensures data interoperability and comprehensive data documentation across GPA’s systems, translating complex data into clear, actionable solutions while collaborating with SMEs and supervising a technical team.
Experience & Technical Skills
Essential: Stakeholder management, Agile experience, team management, understanding of data architecture’s role, data modelling skills, familiarity with UML and CASE tools like SparxEA or Erwin.
Desirable: Knowledge of data privacy/security, project management skills, training experience, familiarity with JIRA.
Qualifications and Certifications
Essential: Graduate qualification in computer science, system engineering, or similar.
Desirable: Training in TOGAF, RM-ODP, and certifications like CITP/CsyP.
Behaviours and Technical Skills
