As a DevOps Network Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Ground Station Network Operations team. You will be responsible for monitoring and servicing our network of remote ground station servers as well as the command and control of our satellite constellation. You will interface interface directly with our network architect, the ground station development team, and our software developers to continuously improve our deployed assets. Candidates must have experience with the following: ● Experience in network security and IPSec VPN ● Proficiency in command-line Linux, preferably Ubuntu ● Basic scripting skills in Bash or Python ● Writing trouble-tickets and discrepancy reports, managing escalations ● Anomaly characterization, troubleshooting, and resolution ● Proficiency with Amazon Web Services (AWS) ● Ability to work in teams across time zones Strong candidates will also possess skills in one or more of the following areas: ● Proficiency in at least one programming language (C, Rust) ● Knowledge of space fundamentals (even through Kerbal Space Program!) ● Experience with Github ● Experience with Docker container management ● Experience with multi-node software deployment (Ansible) Objectives include: ● Develop comprehensive understanding of our custom software and hardware through on-the-job training. ● Monitor and service our remote network servers and our virtual instances on AWS. Develop and enforce escalation policies. ● Follow best practices for logging tasks and reporting anomalies. Support anomaly team by contributing to recovery efforts and maintaining thorough documentation. ● Participate in the test phase of the software development cycle to preserve stability within the ground station network. ● Develop telemetry tools and GUI dashboards to enable consistent and constant monitoring of ground station assets. ● Develop active alerting that can be sent to Microsoft Teams, Outlook or applicable on-call personnel platform based on information gathered/reported via telemetry tools and GUI dashboards ● Actively engage in the development of documentation to build the company knowledge-base.
