EC&I Commissioning Technician - Night Shift
Location: Burghfield, near Reading (RG30)
Contract Length: 6-12 months (initial)
Rate: £54.29/hour Umbrella (Inside IR35) or £40.41/hour PAYE (incl. night shift uplift)
Per Diem: £100/day for candidates commuting over 30 miles
We are supporting a major infrastructure project at a secure nuclear site in Burghfield with the recruitment of multiple EC&I Commissioning Technicians for night shift work on a long-term contract.
This is a full-time, site-based position working 66 hours across an 11-on / 3-off shift rotation. All work will be carried out on the night shift.
You will play a critical role in the commissioning and testing of electrical and instrumentation systems within a highly regulated environment, following strict safety and quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute commissioning tests safely and efficiently in line with project schedules and SSoWs
Implement site commissioning arrangements across installation, commissioning, and handover
Maintain and report accurate status updates to the Commissioning Manager
Complete commissioning records, results, and associated raw data
Essential Requirements:
Strong background in electrical commissioning
Recognised Level 3 qualification or apprenticeship in a relevant discipline
Valid ECS/CSCS card (or willingness to obtain prior to site entry)
18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
Eligibility for SC (Security Clearance)
Previous experience in nuclear, power generation, or similarly regulated industries is preferred

£100 per diem paid per day on-site for those commuting more than 30 miles
