Role: Enterprise Mobile Architect
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom (3 days a week in London)
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the architectural design and implementation of a comprehensive design system supporting multiple products and platforms.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into scalable design system solutions.
3. Define and document architecture principles, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and reusability.
4. Analyze existing systems and tools to identify integration opportunities and streamline workflows.
5. Stay updated on industry trends and user feedback to evolve and enhance the design system.
6. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
7. Evaluate third-party libraries and tools for inclusion in the design system ecosystem.
8. Promote the adoption of the design system within the organization through advocacy and knowledge sharing.
9. Work with DevOps to establish CI/CD pipelines for deployment and maintenance.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
2. Proven experience as a solution architect or similar role, with a focus on design systems.
3. Experience with Storybook, Chromatic, and Zeroheight.
4. Experience creating automation processes for component governance.
5. Strong understanding of software architecture principles.
6. Experience with version control systems, package managers, and dependency management tools.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Leadership abilities, including mentoring and facilitating decision-making.
9. Experience with Agile and DevOps practices.
10. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
11. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
