An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role includes overseeing credit-related activities such as managing risk, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team,
* Have strong financial understanding,
* Possess problem-solving abilities,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the company's credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Being the lead contact with our Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims promptly and accurately, and assisting in negotiating renewal terms,
* Organising and leading monthly meetings with senior management,
* Providing management information to highlight potential bad debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports,
* Managing cash collection for all group companies,
* Ensuring departmental systems and protocols are efficient and adhered to,
* Overseeing the Credit Control Department and managing the team proactively,
* Processing credit applications and providing PODs,
* Making major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Controlling credit limits,
* Managing litigation, insolvency practitioners, and pursuing claims,
* Setting credit policies and managing credit notes,
* Conducting risk assessments for existing and new credit applicants,
* Maintaining excellent relationships with internal departments and stakeholders,
* Reviewing Terms and Conditions for sales prior to approval,
* Visiting customers and company sites as needed.
