Sales Developer/Director

Retail

£70,000 - £100,00 + Bonus

Location: Remote / Hybrid (UK)


Role Overview

We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Sales Developer / Expert to join our CPRD team. This role sits at the heart of one of Capgemini’s fastest‑growing sectors. With consumer products and retail clients accelerating major programmes across digital transformation, supply chain optimisation, manufacturing modernisation, data-driven operations, sustainability, and customer experience, CPRD represents a significant growth engine for Capgemini UK.

The successful candidate will thrive in an environment full of opportunity—working with some of the world’s most recognised consumer brands, engaging in multi‑million‑pound pursuits, and contributing directly to the CPRD growth strategy. As the CPRD portfolio expands, this role provides clear visibility, strong career progression, and the ability to shape new offerings and emerging propositions.

We are looking for someone who is:

* Self‑motivated and proactive, able to drive outcomes independently
* Persistent and resilient, especially during long sales cycles
* Highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and diverse stakeholders
* Experienced in navigating complex matrix environments and cross‑functional teams


Experience Requirements

* 8+ years of sales experience, including 5+ years in the UK market
* Direct experience with Consumer Products and Retail organisations
* Strong knowledge of Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and CPR industry operating models
* Demonstrated success selling large transformation, engineering, IT, or business services deals
* Existing senior relationships in the UK CPR market (highly advantageous)
* Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation capabilities
* Comfortable engaging C‑suite and senior operational stakeholders
* Engineering or business degree preferred with strong understanding of technology-enabled services
* Ability and willingness to travel to client sites as required



Key Responsibilities

1. Market & Growth Development – CPRD Focus

* Identify, shape, and pursue high-value opportunities across the CPRD market
* Contribute to Capgemini’s CPRD growth agenda by building pipeline aligned to strategic themes such as:
* Digital supply chain and logistics optimisation
* Smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 solutions
* Sustainable operations and energy transformation
* Connected customer experience and omnichannel retail
* Analyse market signals, competitor activity, and client investment patterns to target emerging opportunities
* Leverage Capgemini’s global capability network, partnerships, and IP to differentiate CPRD value propositions

2. Client Relationship Management

* Build and nurture strong relationships with assigned CPR and Retail clients
* Understand clients’ strategic priorities, operational challenges, and transformation agendas
* Regularly engage clients to gather insights, drive conversations, and create collaboration pathways
* Respond to client inquiries promptly and manage escalations when required
* Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across engineering, consulting, cloud, data, cybersecurity, operations, and digital services

3. Sales Execution & Pursuit Leadership

* Lead end-to-end sales cycles from opportunity creation through to contract closure
* Develop compelling proposals, commercial structures, and differentiated deal strategies
* Work collaboratively with bid teams, solution architects, engineering leads, and delivery experts
* Ensure high-quality documentation, governance, and internal approvals
* Manage multiple opportunities and stakeholders simultaneously, maintaining disciplined follow‑through

4. Internal & Partner Collaboration

* Work closely with CPRD leadership, industry directors, and domain experts to shape joint go‑to‑market campaigns
* Collaborate with marketing teams to design CPRD-focused materials, client events, and campaigns
* Engage with technology and ecosystem partners (e.g., cloud providers, engineering partners, tech platforms) to strengthen joint propositions
* Provide structured feedback from clients to guide development of new CPRD propositions and offerings

* Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and commercial acumen
* Ability to manage complex workloads, competing deadlines, and multi-level stakeholders
* Persistent, driven, and able to sustain momentum through extended sales processes
* Highly self‑motivated with a proactive approach to business development
* Comfortable presenting to executive audiences
* Strong organisational discipline and attention to detail
