About the Role

Explore the depths of technology and national security with LMUK as a Systems Test Analyst (Graduate Level). This role benefits from our 9/75 working pattern giving you every other Friday off.

As a Systems Test Analyst you will be an integral part of the team, playing a vital role in testing and commissioning the next generation Dreadnought Class submarines currently under construction in Barrow-in-Furness.

The successful candidate will join the business at an entry level and will be provided with extensive specialist technical and analytical training at the Royal Navy Base situated on the West Coast of Scotland.

Skills developed will enable you to:

1. Function within an US/UK combined analytical team; performing analysis of test results from submarine technical systems
2. Witness performance of test procedures during testing and commissioning of technical systems onboard submarines.
3. Perform technical analysis during contractor sea trials, which will entail periods of time at sea onboard the submarine.
4. Produce comprehensive system level evaluation reports to providing verification and validation of system performance in accordance with appropriate documentation.
5. Provide technical consultancy, advice and support to management, the Ministry of Defence and other stakeholders to ensure that customer requirements are met.
6. Travel within the UK and the US to attend meetings, undertake training and provide engineering analysis support.

The successful candidate must achieve the appropriate level (DV) of security clearance. More details can be found .

This role also requires that you pass a Submarine Medical and SMERAS training (2m jump into water and a 50m swim, at the ).

Required skills, qualifications and experience

A degree from an accredited university/college in Physics, Engineering or a related STEM discipline or minimum of an HNC with experience in an Analytical / Engineering role combined with:
7. An analytical, structured, and thorough approach to problem solving.
8. A pro-active approach to providing solutions to emergent challenges.
9. The ability to take ownership of tasks as delegated and drive them through to successful conclusion under agreed deadlines.
10. An ability to function as part of a team, with excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
11. An understanding of the requirement to adhere to applicable documentation within a highly prescriptive environment
12. The ability to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
13. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Software Suite.

Business Environment

Lockheed Martin UK – Strategic Systems (LMUK SS) is the single contractor providing specialist Waterfront In-Service Support to one of the Royal Navy's Submarine Programs. The company provides the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with safe, efficient and responsive support. LMUK SS, as part of the ABL Alliance with AWE and Babcock, is also responsible for the management of operations at RNAD Coulport. Looking to the future, LMUK SS supports the joint US and UK submarine design efforts.
