Job Summary: Lead, mentor, and deliver high‑quality aircraft maintenance within a fast‑paced aviation environment. As a Mechanical Supervisor you will oversee detailed aircraft maintenance activity, provide guidance and support to technicians, and ensure work is completed safely, compliantly and to the highest standard.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities:
* Undertake and supervise depth maintenance and diagnostic activities, including inspections, repairs, modifications and system testing.
* Analyse and diagnose faults on aircraft components, applying technical expertise and recommending improvements where appropriate.
* Ensure maintenance is completed on schedule, escalating issues and supporting problem‑solving.
* Provide leadership within the maintenance facility by guiding technicians, demonstrating best practices and ensuring a proactive team culture.
* Carry out compliance‑related support tasks such as tooling control, oversight checks and adherence to the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
Essential experience:
* Engineering knowledge and practical skills gained through previous hands‑on technical roles.
* Evidence of contributing to the maintenance, operation, design or improvement of systems, equipment or processes.
* Proven ability to accept and exercise personal responsibility in safety‑critical environments.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, influence and support a diverse workforce.
* Commitment to professional conduct and high standards, including time management and quality of work.
Qualifications:
* Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship (ideally Aeronautical) or equivalent military apprenticeship.
* City & Guilds 2675 Aeronautical Engineering & Maintenance or NVQ Level 3 Aeronautical discipline.
* Considerable experience and full competence with required authorities in place.
* Aircraft platform training relevant to the fleet.
* Trade Principles training and strong IT competency.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) clearance for this role.
