Description Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world Wood’s Technical Consulting division is seeking Engineering Placement Students to join our Subsea and Pipeline Engineering Team within the energy sector. This 12-month placement, starting in Summer 2026, will be based at our Staines office and forms part of a degree program. The Role In this role, you will contribute to cutting-edge energy transportation and transition projects across diverse and challenging environments such as the North Sea, Black Sea, South America, West Africa, and the Mediterranean. Your responsibilities will include preparing engineering proposals, techno-economic studies, technical reports, material specifications, equipment requisitions, and drawings, ensuring high-quality deliverables for global energy infrastructure. Technical challenges will include water depths up to 3.5 km, product temperatures ranging from -190 to 160°C, corrosive products, composite materials, tsunamis, landslides, scour and cyclones You will also work on some world leading onshore energy transportation projects, including traditional oil and gas, CO 2 and now hydrogen, as well There are also opportunities to support offshore renewables projects including both fixed wind and floating wind You will be trained to use advanced engineering software for pipeline and cable routing and design and general-purpose FE software such as ABAQUS You will help to prepare engineering proposals, techno economic studies, technical reports, material specifications, equipment requisitions and drawings Qualifications What Makes you Remarkable? Graduate engineer with a minimum 2:1 bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field or a master’s degree in mechanical, Civil, Subsea Engineering.
