The R&D Infrastructure and Operations Leader will be responsible for developing and maintaining the infrastructure needed to support software development, product validation, and verification processes across GA.
Reporting to the CTO, this role requires understanding the business strategy for product development and ensuring that the latest tools and technologies for DevOps environments and GA Lab capabilities are available to the R&D team for high-quality, efficient delivery.
Job Description
Key responsibilities:
1. Lead the DevOps, GA Lab, and R&D Operations teams to provide advanced infrastructure, tools, and testing capabilities supporting GA's product development strategy.
2. Develop and execute the Grid Automation DevOps and MLOps roadmap aligned with company goals.
3. Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable software delivery.
4. Drive automation initiatives to minimize manual operations and enhance deployment reliability.
5. Establish validation and verification engineering standards across all development activities to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
6. Serve as the authority on V&V practices, ensuring testing at IED and system levels following the latest methodologies and standards, while maintaining scalability, performance, and security.
7. Implement testing strategies to detect design defects and incorporate feedback loops for continuous improvement.
8. Lead SAFe deployment for new product introduction and prioritization, supported by a solid process.
9. Collaborate with engineering leaders to establish technical roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related fields.
2. Extensive experience in software development, control and automation systems, with proven leadership roles.
3. Proven track record in product development, software validation, and verification.
4. Strong leadership skills in managing multidisciplinary teams.
5. Deep knowledge of design principles, methodologies, and best practices.
6. Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts to diverse audiences.
