We have an excellent opportunity for a Learning and Development Coordinator to join our Children’s Services Learning and Development Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a Full-time, Permanent basis.
As Learning and Development Coordinator, you will support the effective and efficient promotion and delivery of learning and development provision within the Children’s Services Workforce. You will manage diaries and training calendars, monitor and respond to queries, and ensure outstanding tasks are followed up to the satisfaction of both customers and the Council. You'll assist in the creation and collation of service-specific information, including newsletters and promotional material, while organizing training events by liaising with trainers and venues to secure bookings and managing the MyLearning booking system.
This role requires strong collaboration with a range of internal and external stakeholders, to ensure learning opportunities are well-planned, accessible, and delivered to a consistently high standard. You'll work alongside managers and practitioners to support end-to-end training processes, maintain accurate systems and records, and collate evaluation data to facilitate accurate reporting, all while upholding data protection legislation and the Council’s Customer Care Charter.

Key Responsibilities
1. Support the effective and efficient promotion and delivery of learning and development provision within the Children’s Services Workforce.
2. Diary & training calendar management, monitoring and answering email and telephone queries to ensure outstanding tasks are followed up and dealt with to the satisfaction of both the customer and the council.
3. Support the production of various types of documents including routine correspondence, letters, reports etc. Update and maintain accurate spreadsheets and documents. Ideally having a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of packages and be confident to learn how to use new systems.
4. Assist with the creation and collation of service specific information e.g., newsletters, bulletins, training information and promotional material for distribution.
5. Organising training events, including liaising with trainers and venues to secure bookings and undertaking event set up processes including loading to MyLearning booking system.
6. To establish and maintain administrative procedures and processes across mailboxes and recording systems.
7. Collate evaluation data assisting with analysis and update spreadsheets to facilitate accurate reporting.
Candidate Requirements
8. Experience of administrative, coordination, or business support roles
9. Confident user of Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
10. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities calmly and effectively.
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
12. Ability to quickly learn new digital systems and processes (e.g. booking platforms).
13. Reliable, motivated, customer focused, able to adapt to changing demands
