Role: Senior Engineer Planner

Ourclient, an international leading manufacturing company based inBirmingham, is recruiting for a Senior Engineering Planner to jointheir rapidly expanding company on a full-time, permanentbasis.
As the Senior Engineer Planner, youwill be working under the planning function leg of the engineeringdepartment structure. This role includes supervisoryresponsibilities for site maintenance planning concerning providinga cost-effective, reliability-centered, predictive, andpreventative maintenance work order system. This will incorporatemaintenance plans, appropriate and timely scheduling, creation anduse of Bills of Materials (BOMs), and the coordination anddirection of labor and resources to aid with the management of thesite-wide maintenanceprogramme.
Responsibilities:
- Plan,organise and assist coordination for all maintenance shuts,establishing best engineering practices to optimise availableresources and minimizing shut durations.
- Understand andmaximise SAP as a Computerized Maintenance Management Systemtool
to coordinate and control the function of theengineering department and maintenance
activities acrossthe site.
- Using SAP PM to provide structuredmaintenance plans for production operators to complete basicmaintenance tasks creating an audit trail of workundertaken.
- Work closely with Engineering Maintenance,Engineering reliability, and Operations Supervisors, to provide aschedule of workload for multi-skilled shift Technicians tomaintain and improve the reliability of the company'sassets.
- Review SAP Plant Maintenance modules to ensurethey cover all aspects of best predictive/preventative maintenancestrategies.
- To be the site expert for SAP PM(Super-user) including undertaking any necessary workin
order to maintain and update the system ensuring otherpersonnel are trained to use the
functions of SAP PM toretrieve information and accurately update.
- Inconjunction with the Reliability Engineer and ReliabilityEngineering Supervisor critique equipment performance and generatestatistical reports that identify poor-performing equipment andmodify maintenance plans as necessary to improve reliabilityand
machine up times.
- Liaise with production,services, and central functions, to ensure that routinemaintenance
is properly planned and job requests areexecuted and cost efficiently.
- In conjunction with theMaintenance Engineer and his Engineering Supervisors ensure anyequipment removed from the plant to be repaired in-house iscoordinated through the 7-day plan, Work Orders allocated to therepair of each item, and appropriate cost captured throughSAP.
The Ideal Candidate:
-Apprenticeship or Degree in an Engineering Discipline
-Experience of working within an engineering environment
-Worked in a process industry
- Understanding contractormanagement, and safe systems of work. (Permits etc)
-Proven experience in managing shuts with up to 250contractors
- Worked with systems such as SAP and otherplanning tools to aid the planning process
- Provenexperience implementing change anddelivering
