Context
SYSTRA is seeking an experienced team leader to manage the Highways Engineering Team in Northern England. The candidate will provide leadership across all team levels, help manage current workloads, attract new projects in the region, and develop the skills of our UK Highway offer.
Main Duties
1. Develop and maintain client relationships through regular contact, understanding their business environment, objectives, and success factors.
2. Negotiate project changes to satisfy both client and SYSTRA, and translate opportunities into successful proposals.
3. Ensure consistent high standards of client care and regularly demonstrate the value of project deliverables.
4. Build a positive team environment, encourage shared accountability, and resolve conflicts proactively.
5. Manage multi-disciplinary teams across locations, providing clear direction and sharing best practices with offshore centers.
6. Anticipate and mitigate issues, organize multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure effective project initiation and closure.
7. Assess and manage risks, ensure contractual obligations are met, and manage complex proposals with potential risks, resources, and costs.
Profile/Skills
The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing complex highways projects, with strong leadership skills, and a good understanding of highway standards such as DMRB and Manual for Streets 2. Experience in the Rail Sector is advantageous but not essential. They should be capable of managing and developing team members to their full potential.
