About the Client & Your Responsibilities
Our client is a vibrant 30-year-old lady who requires 24/7 complex care from a dedicated team of Personal Assistants. Support is provided both in the family home and out in the community to help her live life to the fullest. She enjoys getting out for walks, going shopping and exploring new experiences. A big fan of pampering, she loves getting dressed up, having her hair done and relaxing with her favourite Disney films, music, and her sensory light projector.
This role involves providing full support with personal care, including bladder and bowel care. You will also be responsible for administering nutrition, hydration, and medication via PEG-J, as well as supporting oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care and ventilation. Moving and handling using a hoist is also part of the daily routine.
Our client is non-verbal and uses various cues to communicate, so it's important to be observant and responsive to understand her needs and preferences. Her family can offer valuable insights to support this understanding in the beginning. English is her first language.
We’re looking for someone who is happy, upbeat, and brings a positive attitude to the role. Kindness, compassion and a gentle approach are essential qualities, as building a strong, trusting relationship with our client is at the heart of what we do. Previous care experience isn’t necessary - what matters most is having the right personality and values.
Full training and shadowing will be provided to ensure you feel confident and supported in your role. While there is a wheelchair-accessible vehicle available for trips out in the community, it’s not essential for all team members to be drivers.
