We are seeking a Consultant Stroke Physician to join us in delivering high quality stroke medicine, including an on-call commitment. You will join a team of enthusiastic friendly people with strong links to the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh, the South East Stroke Network & NHS Tayside.
We are embarking on an exciting time in Fife, when we are further developing our Hyperacute Stroke Service, Mechanical Thrombectomy and Spasticity Services. There may be an opportunity to contribute to the out of hours thrombectomy service within SE Scotland and depending on the interest also contribute to the development of spasticity management. Successful candidates would be welcome to contribute to service development in these areas and encouraged to pursue streams of their own.
Stroke medicine sits in the Medicine of the Elderly Department within the Medical Directorate. The current stroke Physicians contribute to general medicine of the elderly Wards & Clinics and Specialist Services such as Movement Disorders, Hospital at Home and front door Frailty Service. There are other potential opportunities in existing services that interested candidates with Medicine of the Elderly credentials could consider.
