Job Description

This is a very exciting time to join our team! We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Inclusion22 practitioner who have experience in supporting vulnerable children and young people. The post will be covering a significant area across Hampshire so a car is essential for this role.

You will join our friendly, award-winning team who are co-located with the local adult Substance Misuse service hubs across the county. You will support children aged 8-17, who are affected by their parental/carer substance misuse, using a variety of therapeutic interventions. We offer a comprehensive training package along with regular line management and external clinical supervision.

As an Inclusion22 Practitioner, your main duties will include:

1. Supporting children and young people through the referral, assessment, care planning and outcome star process.
2. Providing interventions to children and young people referred to the service under the supervision of the management team.
3. Providing sustained support to a predefined case load of children and young people who are referred to the service.
4. To identify risks and safeguarding concerns and manage these appropriately.
5. Providing consultation and information to other professionals from a range of settings.
6. Offering a flexible and adaptive approach to support evening and weekend working, where required.
7. To reduce the risks and negative social and health impacts for children of substance misusing parents and carers.
8. To support and safeguard children and young people to develop an understanding of the impact of parental substance use.
9. To safeguard children of substance misusing parents from harm.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need experience of working with vulnerable children and be keen to develop integrated partnership working. In addition, we are looking for:

Essential criteria

10. Experience of working with challenging and hard to engage children, young people and families.
11. Experience of working with children and young people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences and trauma.
12. Experience of working with children and young people in group and one-to-one setting.
13. Trauma-informed practitioner.
14. Experience of working within a systemic approach.
15. The ability to build, maintain and repair ruptured therapeutic relationships with children and young people.
16. Excellent working knowledge of alcohol, drugs and their effects.
17. Knowledge of issues around parental substance misuse.
18. An awareness of the current issues relating to at risk and vulnerable young people.
19. Knowledge of engagement and intervention strategies.
20. Experience of working with disaffected children and young people.

Interviews will be arranged as suitable candidates are identified, so early application is strongly advised.

This post will involve Countywide travel across Hampshire; you will therefore need to have use of a vehicle, with an up-to-date driving licence, MOT, and Business Insurance. There will also be occasional travel around the UK

There may be a requirement to work occasional evenings or weekends
