Job Title: Interim Financial Controller

The Hays Bristol finance team is exclusively working with an outstanding charitable organisation, a market leader in its sector, undergoing an exciting period of transformation and change.
The senior leadership team seeks to appoint an interim financial controller to support the CFO in reviewing, processing, and improving critical areas of the business, specifically income, AR, and AP, as well as supporting a system update and managing any challenges that arise.
We aim to conduct interviews as early as next week, with the role potentially starting this month. The initial contract duration is 3-6 months, with flexibility. The role offers immediate support to the senior leadership team and assists in long-term planning. Compensation is on a day-rate basis (inside or IR35, as it involves managing a team). The preferred working arrangement is 2 days a week on-site in Bristol, but this is negotiable.
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified accountant with technical expertise.
* Experience in the charitable sector is desirable and advantageous.
* Personable with a positive attitude to foster team culture.
* Reporting to the CFO, managing 4 direct reports within a team of approximately 16.
* Proven ability to review and drive process improvements.
* Leadership qualities to lead from the front.
* Ability to deliver and review information effectively to senior stakeholders.
